About me
Jonathan Greene is an English educator at Ashe Early College High School with a passion for literature, film studies, theatre, and the arts. He earned his B.A. in English with a concentration in Film Studies and a minor in Theatre from Appalachian State University, where he also completed his teaching licensure in 2018. Since beginning his career in Scotland County Schools and later teaching in Wilkes County Schools, Jonathan has focused on fostering creativity, collaboration, and student voice through innovative arts-based instruction.
For the past four years at Ashe Early College, Jonathan has expanded theatre arts opportunities for students by launching a theatre club in 2024 that has since grown into both a course offering and a thriving school and community program. He previously presented at the GEAR UP Academic Innovation Conference in 2023 and 2025, was awarded GEAR UP’s 2024 ExP=O Whole-School Grant, and was named the 2026 Ashe County Early College Innovator of the Year.
